Canon to Support Intel's Thunderbolt Tech

Canon to Support Intel's Thunderbolt Tech

Cameras Mar 11,2011 0

Following its recent launch, Intel’s Thunderbolt technology has gotten yet another endorsement, this time from camera maker Canon. Hiroo Edakubo, Group Executive of Canon’s Video Products Group stated, "We are excited about Thunderbolt technology and feel it will bring new levels of performance and simplicity to the video creation market."

Intel announced the Thunderbolt technology (formerly codenamed "Light Peak") last month. It is a high-speed PC connection technology that brings together high-speed data transfer and high-definition (HD) display on to a single cable.

Running at 10Gbps, Thunderbolt technology is coming to market through a technical collaboration with Apple, and it is available first on Apple's new line of MacBook Pro laptop computers.
