Toshiba has announced the European availability of the 8TB SATA X300 HDD series. Like the previously released 4TB X300, the new X300 spins its 8TB at 7200RPM and has 128MB of cache. It uses perpendicular magnetic recording and it is not helium-fileld as we have seen in some other drives.

The 3.5" internal hard drive is designed for professional or gaming PC.

The drive is going on sale in Europe now and is expected to reach the U.S. in the third quarter of this year.
