PS4 Now Supports Remote Play on iOS

PS4 Now Supports Remote Play on iOS

Gaming Mar 8,2019 0

Sony is updating the PlayStation 4 to add support for Remote Play on iOS devices.

Released today, the latest 6.50 firmware update for PlayStation 4 systems allows users to play games and control their PlayStation 4 from their iOS device. Of course, downloading the PS4 Remote Play app from the App Store is required. The feature first launched on Android devices years ago.

We should note that the Remote Play doesn’t allow users to use a controller, so unfortunately you will have to use the on-screen controls. You won’t be able to connect the DualShock controller of the PlayStation, so you may need to use a third-party controller if you want a decent experience with Remote Play. Sony also says that not all games might be compatible with Remote Play, and you will need to be on a WiFi network for the feature to work.

Microsoft is also offering a similar game streaming feature for the Xbox, available on devices running Windows 10.

The new firmware v6.50 allow allows you to change the button assignment to perform "Enter" operations from the circle button to the cross button. Select (Settings) > [System], and then select the checkbox for [Use cross Button for Enter]. This option is available only for specific countries and regions.
