Nvidia has released an over-the-air software update for SHIELD that brings new games,apps and enhancements to the Android TV device. The upgrades include:

• Ability to share your pictures in 4K on Ultra HD TVs with the Photos & Videos app
• Enhancements for SHIELD's Secure Digital card auto-move setting
• Optimized streaming for Google Play Movies and Netflix
• SHIELD Accessories Upgrade for SHIELD Remote for snappier response
• Notifications for low battery on SHIELD Remote
• Enhancements to NVIDIA GameStream, which lets you stream games from our GeForce GTX powered PC.
• Also, a popular app has arrived on Android TV, optimized for SHIELD. KODI (XBMC) launched beta 2, delivering SHIELD optimized features including HEVC and 4K video support.

The update follows Google's major Android TV update earlier this month make it easier to find the new apps arriving for Android TV. This update makes the new apps developers are creating for Android TV easier to find and install.

• Fox Sports Go - Live sports like the FIFA Women's World Cup or the U.S. Open
• EPIX - Thousands of Hollywood hit movies, concerts and comedy specials
• CBS News - CBSN, the new 24-hour digital news network from CBS News
• CBS Sports - CBS Sports content including NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA, Golf and more

This is in addition to the new Android TV apps that Google announced at I/O, soon coming to SHIELD and Android TV, including: HBO Now, HBO Go, Fox News, Fox Now, FX Now, Qello, Twitch, UFC, USA Today, Vimeo, Vudu and WWE.

• Doom 3: BFG - the definitive edition of this gaming classic launched last week for SHIELD Android TV and is currently available on the Play Store.
• Game of Thrones HD - this adventure game set in the world of George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones novels is being updated to 1080p resolution for SHIELD Android TV. You can download the updated version on Google Play.
• Trine 2 - get this engrossing adventure game at the special promotional price of $4.95 for a limited time for SHIELD on Android TV.
• Machinarium - an adventure-themed puzzle game ? is optimized for NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV, and now available on Google Play.
