Toshiba just announced the Dynabook Kira V634/27K laptop in Japan that has a 22 hours (!) of battery life. Of course, this extremely high battery life can be achieved under super-optimal conditions. In addition, it can be attributed to Toshiba's own BIOS that controls the hardware.

It is powered by an Intel Core i5-4200U (1.6GHz) processor, is has 8GB DDR3L-1600 memory, an 128Gb SSD, Harman/kardon speakers and runs Windows 8.1. OS. The notebook also sports a magnesium alloy-clad case and its weight is just 1.12kg, since it features small printed circuit boards (PCBs).

The Dynabook Kira V634/27K costs $1450 and will retail later this month in Japan.

The dynabook KIRA V634/27K" is one of the five series that the company will release Nov 22, 2013.

All the models in the dynabook KIRA series of notebook PCs have a battery life longer than about 14 hours and are based on Intel Haswell Core i5 Processors and low-power-consumption LCD backlight source.

The dynabook KIRA series has a 4k-compatible HDMI output port and can output high-resolution images and movies to a 4k TV.

The dynabook R734 is equipped with a 13.3-inch LCD panel and the fourth-generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor. Also, it incorporates a 1-Tbyte hybrid drive and a Blu-ray Disc drive.

The dynabook N514, which is equipped with an 11.6-inch touch-sensitive LCD panel, comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office and supports the Draft IEEE802.11ac next-generation high-speed wireless LAN standard.
