AMD Releases New Quad-Core Elite Mobility APU

AMD today added a new chip to its 2013 Elite Mobility processor family. The new AMD Elite Quad-Core A4-1350 delivers entry-Level performance plus AMD Radeon HD graphics for tablets, hybrids and small-Screen touch notebooks. AMD estimates that the A4-1350 accelerated processor consumes an average power at or below 3 watts for many common use cases. The new APU is expected to begin shipping to in October, 2013.

Available in dual- and quad-core configurations, the AMD Elite Mobility APUs series combines "Jaguar" x86 central processing unit (CPU) cores with Graphics Core Next AMD Radeon HD 8000 Series graphics. Key performance metrics for the AMD Elite Mobility family include:

- Up to 172 percent more CPU performance-per-watt and up to 212 percent better graphics performance-per-watt than the previous generation;
- Up to 12 hours of resting battery life;
- Up to 45 percent longer battery life and nearly five times more GPU performance than an Intel Core i3-3217U 1.8GHz.

The AMD A4-1350 APU (1 GHz, 4MB, 8W) features AMD Radeon graphics (HD 8210, 129 cores, 300MHz) with DirectX 11.1 support; AMD Dock Port for using up to four external monitors and syncing to other devices through a single connection; AMD AllDay Power for long battery life and;AMD Start Now technology for Booting up or resuming from hibernate in seconds.

The AMD A4-1350 APU is expected to begin shipping to customers in October 2013 for use in small-screen touch notebooks, tablets, and hybrids 13-inches and below.
