LG Electronics unveils a range of exciting IT products

LG Electronics unveils a range of exciting IT products

Consumer Electronics Apr 29,2008 0

LG Electronics has announced a range of groundbreaking technologies for the second quarter of 2008 at the first IT dedicated media event yesterday. Ranging from ultra-portable notebooks, award-winning wide monitors to the record-breaking external super multi drives. LG has gone the extra mile to offer a perfect mobile computing experience with its cutting edge technologies.

Notebook technology

LG notebooks have carved a premium brand position with technological leadership and unique design. This year, LG launches its Xnote line-up, including laptops ranging in size from ultra portable to ultra-ginormous.

E300 notebook

The E300 notebook is an ultra portable 13.1-inch widescreen which strikes a perfect balance between mobility and performance. The machine is built on Intel Core 2 Duo processor and runs on Windows Vista. The E300 also boasts a built in 1.3-megapixel Web cam for easy of online conferencing.

E500 notebook

Known as the entertainment park, the LG E500 notebook sports powerful graphics combined with the generous 15.4-inch widescreen. This combination truly brings movies and gaming to life. The E500 also comes standard with a built-in Web cam for live chatting.

P300 notebook

The P300 notebook is super fast with a trendy design and an appealing 'black rose pattern'. The design is quite compelling and the unit seems to be quite sexy indeed. The LCD housing is black while the keyboard area is aluminium-coloured.

LG plans to bring HSDPA offerings within the E300 and P300 notebooks to the market later in 2008.

Monitor technology (USB monitor)

The super cool 20-inch FlatronWide L206WU USB-based monitor has a 5 000:1 contrast ratio, 170 degree horizontal / vertical viewing angles, and most importantly eschews DVI and VGA for a USB connection that can be daisy chained over five more displays.

In addition, the DVI component makes the L206WU compatible with a range of computers and other devices like DVD players.

Optical storage technology (External Blu-ray writer)

The external Blu-ray rewriter and HD DVD-ROM, code name GGWHN10, with the ability to read and write Blu-ray and read HD DVD at 6x offers users the quickest portable option for data storage. It is ideal for the home or office, as users can backup a large number of files, such as photos or company documents, quickly and easily.

The external drive is perfect for laptop users or users that have multiple PCs, as they no longer need to go through the process of having to install it to a PC. They simply plug the drive in via a USB B-type connection and a DC power connector.
