Targus today released the USB 2.0 Rewriteable DVD +/- RW Slim External Drive. Targus' new drive weighs less than a pound and measures less than an inch thick, making it the perfect travel companion for mobile professionals.

The Targus Rewriteable DVD +/- RW Slim External Drive is a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed device compatible with all computing solutions that support USB connectivity.

Targus' new drive supports all popular media formats, including CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD-RW. The company bundles the drive with Nero 6.0 software.

The USB 2.0 Rewriteable DVD Drive is currently available through Targus' corporate and OEM sales channels as well as on the company Web site (www.targus.com). It is compatible with Windows 2000, Me and XP and includes a USB cable with pass-through connector for additional USB devices. The drive, which delivers 4X writes speeds for DVDs, is priced at $489.99 and includes a one-year warranty.
