Nvidia 3D Vision Surround Now Available

GPUs Jun 30,2010 0

Today NVIDIA officially released its GeForce Beta v258.69 drivers which add support for 3D Vision Surround. 3D Vision Surround allows gamers to enjoy playing 3D games across three screens, powered by GeForce GTX 400 Series GPUs, 3D Vision, and SLI technology.

For all those who do not have a 3D Vision Surround PC, Nvidia's system builders have put together some PC bundles that are the perfect platform complete with GeForce GTX 400 series GPUs running in SLI. These include the following:

* MAINGEAR F131
* CyberPower Gamer Xtreme 3D Surround 3000
* iBuyPower Gamer Paladin F890 3D
* Digital Storm Special Ops
* Vigor V3 Gaming
* AVA Direct NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround PC

Basic hardware requirements for a 3D Vision Surround PC include Microsoft Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit OS, an SLI motherboard (NVIDIA recommends PCI-E 2.0 x16 motherboard for the best peformance), GeForce GTX 480 /270/465/285/280/275/260 cards for 2-way SLI and 3-way SLI configurations, GeForce GTX 295 cards for Quad SLI, a 3D Vidsion-ready display and 2GB is required (4GB is recommended for 64-bit operating systems).

For those of you that want to build your own 3D Vision Surround rig, make sure your download the entire 3D Vision CD v1.31 which contains v258.69 GeForce and 3D Vision drivers. Just a note for GeForce GTX 295 users, this driver has some issues in Quad SLI mode in 3D Vision Surround. Nvidia is aware of these issues and we will be providing a future driver update to support this configuration.

MAINGEAR has built a special solution that really takes the 3D Vision Surround technology over the limit. The MAINGEAR 3D Vision Surround Racing Simulator ispowered by 32 GeForce GTX 480 GPUs all watercooled and overclocked, 400 ft lbs of hydraulics with an authentic racing seat and "MAINGEAR SHIFT with Advanced Vertical Heat Dissipation" with a custom external radiator integrated into the frame of the simulator.

It's the world's FIRST 3D Vision Surround racing simulator and accelerating, braking, and turning can all be felt with maximum realism with the combination of the visual (3D) and the physical (hydraulics.)

Basic features of the 258.69 BETA driver include:
