New 8x DVD writer by Mitsumi
with the new DW-7872TE Mitsumi enters the dual format DVD recording market.
The drive supports 8x DVD+R and 4x DVD+RW writing but stayed away from 8x DVD-R, since it offers only 4x. The DVD-RW media will be burned at 2x CLV.
The DW-7872TE uses the usual 2MB buffer combined with a Buffer Underrun Protection technology. The attached software is complete but the street price of 170 Euros could be lower.
