LG Electronics said on Monday it had filed a lawsuit against Chinese TV maker Thomson TCL Electronics (TTE) for patent infringement. The lawsuit was filed in a U.S. court on Feb. 10 accusing the two companies of infringing four digital television patents, South Korea's LG, the world's biggest maker of plasma displays, said in a statement.

TCL Multimedia has struggled to make a profit beyond Asia since it bought Thomson SA's TV arm and has said it would shut most of its European operations.
