ATI Builds on Success in Entry-Level Workstation Graphics

ATI Technologies Inc. today announced that IBM has selected the powerful FireGL? V7100 high-end workstation graphics accelerator for the IBM IntelliStation Pro line. Having previously selected the FireGL? V3100 for its IBM IntelliStation M Pro, ATI continues to build on its momentum in the entry-level and mobile workstation graphics markets and is now gaining ground in the high-end with today's announcement of the refreshed IBM IntelliStation M Pro and Z Pro products.

"Having selected the FireGL V7100 for the IntelliStation M Pro 6225 and Z Pro 6223, IBM now offers cost-effective systems for both entry-level and high-end workstations with ATI graphics," said Julie Irving, IntelliStation Pro Marketing Manager, IBM. "By broadening our offerings of ATI workstation graphics, customers can be confident that IBM workstations give them the performance, stability and reliability that they demand, regardless of their budget."

"ATI's momentum in the workstation market continues to grow, as important partners like IBM recognize the performance benefits of our products to their users," said Dave Rolston, Vice President and General Manager of Workstation and Embedded Products, ATI. "By continuing to focus on the needs of our engineering and creative design customers who rely on workstation graphics day-in and day-out, ATI has made a significant move forward with the transition to PCI Express."

The PCI Express-based FireGL V7100 maximizes the high-bandwidth bus to deliver phenomenal speed and image quality for real-time visualization and design creativity. With outstanding performance and stability, the FireGL V7100 features 256 MB of GDDR3 unified graphics memory, 16 pixel pipelines and 6 geometry engines and dual display support via two DVI outputs creating an immersive work environment.

ATI's FireGL products are supported by a unified driver, which is tested and certified by professional 3D ISV partners, making system administration and upgrades cost effective and simple. All FireGL products come with a three year warranty and unlimited direct access to a dedicated workstation technical support team.
