As part of its Black Friday deals, Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC offers a free One A9 phone to U.S. buyers willing to trade their iPhones for the HTC device. HTC will grant U.S. consumers a US$499 rebate -- which is the full retail price of the mid-range A9 announced last month -- if they trade in their Apple iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S or 6S Plus between Nov. 26 and Dec. 2.

HTC will also accept trade-ins for other smartphones as well. For instance, a Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 edge will qualify for a US$200 rebate, for example, while an LG G3 or G4 will get just a US$100 rebate.

The Taiwanese company also detailed its sales plans for Cyber Monday.

The HTC Nexus 9 tablet will be priced at a 40 percent discount Nov. 26-27, and the company will offer 40 percent off of all accessories Nov. 28-29.

Also coming in at 40 percent off is the One M9 flagship phone from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, while the HTC RE action camera will go on sale at 60 percent off its original price during the same period.
