World renowned professional optical drive manufacturer BTC officially released its long anticipated 16X speed DVD dual format burner, the DRW1016IM. This top of the line DVD burner provides the latest in performance and compatibility at an unprecedented price/performance level.

The DRW1016IM, developed entirely by BTC's own experienced R&D team, provides a maximum speed of 16X for DVD+R media, which allows the user to record a full 4.7GB single sided, single layered DVD+R media in just under 6 minutes ! Besides supporting the dual formats of DVD+R(W) and DVD-R(W), the DRW1016IM also supports the new DVD+R Double Layer (DL) media with a total capacity of 8.5GB, which allows for the recording of 4 hours of high resolution video in just under 25 minutes.

The DRW1016IM comes with the popular Nero burning software and Cyberlink's Multimedia Pack solutions, allowing the user to fully exploit the drive's potential. These extremely user friendly software packages provide a multitude of functions which allow the user to easily create his/her favorite CD or DVD recordable or rewritable disc, using any type of multimedia files, whether they are audio, video, picture or other multimedia files, or just for backing up your precious other data files.

BTC's 16X DVD Dual format burner DRW1016IM was entirely designed and engineered by BTC's own R&D team and contains many patented design features, including 2nd generation Superlink buffer underrun prevention technology and laser tilt control technology, which can improve reading and writing data integrity and at the same time lower the write failure rate due to buffer underrun, thus ensuring an optimal burning quality. A BTC in-house designed and patented 7 point Vibration Absorbing Suspension system (V.A.S.) and a special safety design, both developed by BTC R&D's mechanical experts, make sure that at high rotation speeds the disc remains steady and silent and also effectively minimize the risk of shattering when below standard media are used.

Another unique feature that comes with the drive is an automatic firmware upgrade program called LiveUpdate, which automatically detects the drive model and subsequently checks the internet for the latest suitable firmware update, thus allowing the user to regularly update the performance and compatibility features of his drive.
