BHA and Shecom agreement Bs Recorder GOLD with latest DVD+RW, CD-R/RW drives

BHA and Shecom agreement Bs Recorder GOLD with latest DVD+RW, CD-R/RW drives

General Interest Jun 4,2002 0

B.H.A® Corporation and Shecom Corporation announced an agreement today that would pair B's Recorder GOLD® with Shecom's new Ikebana® line of CD/DVD burners. The new drives offer write compatibility with CD-R, CD-RW as well as DVD+RW media providing flexible burning options for a growing number of audio, video and data recording applications. Incorporating an all-encompassing GUI, both Macintosh® and Windows® versions of BHA's B's GOLD enable first-time users to create fully customized, shareable content without sacrificing the level of creativity and control demanded by seasoned users. Paired with Shecom's 2X speed DVD+RW/+R recorder (equivalent to 20x on a CD-RW drive), users can burn a full 4.7GB disc in roughly 30 minutes, then share that content on industry standard, DVD+RW compatible DVD video players and DVD ROM drives.

BurnProof and JustLink compatible, B's GOLD takes full advantage of today's most advanced drive caching technology to prevent buffer underruns and ensure a successful burn, every time. A "lossless linking" feature, similar to the "multi-session" feature on a standard CD burner, enables users to suspend and continue write sessions to DVD+RW media, resulting in less wasted disk space. BHA's B's GOLD offers MP3 encoding and decoding for direct to audio CD burning. Paired with Shecom's external burners, B's Recorder GOLD allows users to plug, play and record interchangeably between FireWire and USB compatible systems without converter cables or going through time-consuming re-boot sequences. Together, the solution enables users to burn DVDs with the ease of a traditional CD burner.

"BHA's B's Recorder GOLD is one of the most comprehensive recording utilities on the market today," said Rick Calderon, Sr. IT Specialist for Shecom Computers. "Combined with our Ikebana DVD+RW/+R drives, users will be able to burn their own content right from the box. Plug in the few cables, choose your media, and the intuitive GUI walks you through everything else."

Shecom's DVD+RW/+R drive supports DVD+RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-ROM XA, CD Extra, CD-I, Mixed-ModeCD, VideoCD, PhotoCD, CD TEXT and Bootable CD media. Content written to standard DVD+RW media also provides broad playback compatibility with existing CD-ROM drives and set-top DVD players.

"DVD is rapidly becoming the medium of choice for delivering high quality video content, unsurpassed audio content, and high capacity data storage," said Bryan Love, Director Marketing & Business Development for B.H.A Software Corporation. "Our new B's Recorder GOLD for Macintosh walks the inexperienced user through using comprehensive visual instructions, yet there are numerous options and features to extend the capabilities of the consummate user."

Pricing and Availability

Pricing for Shecom's drive is about $490 and additional DVD+RW media can be purchased for about $16. For further information please visit www.ikebanadrive.com. Customers can purchase the new CD-RW or DVD+RW drives directly from www.shecomonline.com, Internet/catalog partners or national retail chains.
