Apple Begins Shipping MacBook Pro

Apple Begins Shipping MacBook Pro

Consumer Electronics Feb 16,2006 0

MacBook Pro Features Faster more powerful Intel Core Duo Processors than what previoulsy announced. At the Macworld Conference in January, Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple had unveiled the two models of the new 15-inch MacBook Pro, one with a 1.67 GHz for $1,999 and the second one with an 1.83 GHz Intel processor to be sold at $2,499.

Finally, on Tuesday, Apple announced that the two models would be more powerful as of 1.83Ghz for the original 1.67 GHz and 2Ghz for the 1.83 GHz and both will remain at the same price. The 2 GHz Mac Book Pro will begin shipping this week and the 1.83 GHz will be available next week for customers who pre-ordered them in January. Future orders will take a minimum of 4 weeks before shipment due to a high demand for these new computers.

In addition, customers may now upgrade to a 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor as a build-to-order option on the Apple Online Store.

David Moody, vice-president of the Mac division of Apple, explained that the company was satisfied with first versions of the MacBook Pro, but had the opportunity to make them more powerful with no additional costs though he wouldn't mention whom between Apple and Intel would have to pay for this GHz increase.

The features of the three versions of the MacBook Pro are available at Apple.
