addlink, apart from the usual internal SSDs for PC/MAC users, has also to cover the gaming market, and for that reason releases the AddGame A93 series, with its main advantage the PS5 compatibility and the low-height aluminum heatsink. The A93 series does promise to have good reading/writing performance levels up to 7.5GB/sec reading and 6.5GB/sec writing, which is more or less what the PS5 gaming console asks for a NVME drive to be able to get used in order to store games.

The retail package is simple and complete and we liked the fact that it comes in a secure shell that will protect it from transportation hazards. The installation method is very simple and addlink has included a guide for PS5 installation as well. There are three different capacities for the A93 series, 1TB, 2TB, and up to 4TB of storage. We tested the 4TB version, which can deliver what addlink promises, at least with sequential files higher than 128Kb. As happens with most budget NVME SSDs, the A93 series has no onboard DRAM cache and instead is using the host's internal DRAM, to help with overall performance. The drive when really stressed will get somewhat hot with max reported temperatures of 75 Celsius, which shouldn't be a real trouble, some sacrifices had to be made to ensure PS5 compatibility.

Concluding this review we can say that the addlink AddGame A93 series is designed mostly for PS5 users, who wish for good performance and budget at the same time. PC/MAC users can look for the higher S95 NVME SSD series from addlink and the warranty is 5 years on par with the competition. The retail price of the 4TB product will vary, according to the region and we did find the product to be priced around $200 at Amazon.com, on par with other competitor products (PS5 compatible) from Lexar. So all in all, we do recommend the addlink ADDGAME A93 series for PS5 users to further extend their gaming experience with new games and keep up with the good loading gaming speeds.
