MediaTek has refuted online reports saying its 10-core Helio X20 mobile SoC has overheating issues. China-based media outlets reported that Weibo users have been complaining over overheating issues with MediaTek's Helio X20-series SoCs. The reports could have a negative impact for Mediatek, as
HTC, Lenovo and Xiaomi are planning to develop models powered by the X20 processor.

MediaTek said that its Helio X20 will be adopted in a number of new smartphones slated for launch between the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second quarter.
