The ZTE AXON mini Premium Edition is now available worldwide for preorder via AliExpress in a number of markets, priced at 299 USD for 24 hours only. The AXON mini first launched in July 2015. The AXON mini (Premium Edition) was the first smartphone to deliver a pressure-sensitive touch screen that recognizes different levels of touch pressure for enhanced functions. This technology allows users to access app shortcut menus with a more pressured touch, weigh items with a scale app accurate to 1 gram, and add security with a "3D" password using firmer touch for complexity. In addition, different pressures can vary volume intensity for a piano app. A firmer touch can accelerate faster in a racing game.

A similar technology was also implemented by Apple in its latest iPhones.

ZTE says that the smartphone's body has been made using a "Boeing 787 aircraft-grade" aluminum-titanium alloy. At 70mm wide, the AXON mini’s 0.85mm thin bezels allow the device to feature a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED FHD 2.5D curved-edge screen. It sports a 13 megapixel camera on the back with a focus time of 0.1 seconds, and its dual microphones are supported by an AKM4961 Hi-Fi audio chipset. These features are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor and 3GB RAM. Its 32GB ROM allows for expansion up to 128GB with an SD card. The device can be unlocked with three different biometric authentication options – fingerprint, voice control, and eye-scan.
