TDK Japan announced a new series of Audio CD-R media, especially designed for high definition audio recordings. The discs (codename: THEORY) will be available in the Japanese market in the 4th of November. The estimated street price for a single package will be approximately 600 Yen (4.7 Euros). The discs will be able to hold 74min of audio. Manufactured of durable resin that is harder than the conventional polycarbonate materials, the media provide high reliability.

The high sensitivity recording film adopted in the "THEORY" discs is designed only for 1-4X recordings, in order to achieve quality results.
