Sony Updates Their VAIO Line For The Holidays

PC components Oct 7,2011 0

Sony this week has announced updates to its VAIO line of Windows PCs as we near the holiday season. First off with the VAIO S Series - they have the 13.3" VAIO SA Windows PC but also the new 15.5" VAIO SE Windows PC. With the VAIO SE, you get all the benefits of the smaller VAIO SA including the thin under-1" flat design, AMD Radeon Hybrid Graphics (up to 1GB VRAM) and optional sheet battery for long-lasting battery life. The VAIO SE also has a backlit keyboard that includes a dedicated 10-key numeric pad. Both the VAIO SA and VAIO SE start at $999. Sony is also updating the VAIO SB with a new color option of red beyond the already existing choices of black, white, blue and pink. The VAIO SA, SE, and SB Windows PCs all feature the latest second-generation Intel Core processors ranging from the Core i3 to the Core i7.

Next up is updates to the VAIO F Series and VAIO L Series Windows PCs. These PCs will begin shipping with Intel?s second generation Core processors as well. However, Sony will also be including the Sony Imagination Studio Multimedia Edition with both these VAIO series as well. This includes Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum, Sound Forge Audio Studio, and ACID Music Studio. This software package is perfect for people who do audio and video projects. The combined software is valued at over $200.

And then Sony has updated the processors for the VAIO E Series and VAIO C Series to include the second generation Intel Core processors. The VAIO E is available with up to a Core i5, and the VAIO C is available up to a Core i7.

Last but not least, the VAIO Y Series Windows PC now offers a model in black beyond the current silver and pink color options.
