Sony Introduces New 3.1ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar

Sony Introduces New 3.1ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar

Consumer Electronics May 11,2020 0

Sony Electronics Inc. today announced the new HT-G700, a 3.1 channel Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundbar that couples powerful surround sound with clear dialogue.

Hear sound from all directions with up to 7.1.2 channel surround sound. The HT-G700 includes Sony’s Vertical Surround Engine, meaning that the HT-G700’s three front speakers, combined with Sony’s signal processing, enable sound placements that can envelop you, in both vertical and horizontal planes. The signal processing has also been improved to deliver surround sound to a wider area. Plus, by selecting the Immersive AE (Audio Enhancement) button, the HT-G700 can also upscale even regular stereo audio to up to 7.1.2 surround sound so every TV show and movie gets the surround sound treatment.

In addition, the HT-G700 offers a dedicated center speaker so that vocals can be heard clearly, whether it’s quick-fire dialogue in your favorite TV shows or whispered lines in a Hollywood movie. Furthermore, the HT-G700 includes finely tuned S-Force PRO that uplifts sound to fit larger TVs (over 55 inches).

The sound or audio mode best suited to what you’re listening to can be selected directly via a button on the remote control. It allows you to get deeper into movies with Cinema mode and hear every detail of your favorite tracks in Music mode. Plus there are additional Voice mode and Night mode settings. Voice mode tailors sound settings to accentuate speech, so you won’t miss a word and Night mode optimizes the sound balance so you can hear clearly, even at low volume levels.

The HT-G700 comes with a wireless subwoofer. Finally, set-up with a TV is quick and easy via Bluetooth or HDMI eARC/ARC.

The HT-G700 has a suggested retail price of $599.99 and is available for purchase at Amazon, Best Buy and other authorized dealers today.

Sony also announced the HT-S20R, an affordable 5.1 channel soundbar. Housed in a sleek design, it offers 400W of power, two rear speakers and subwoofer. Designed to fit alongside TVs, the HT-S20R is also easy to connect to your TV via HDMI, optical or analogue input. You can also enjoy music via Bluetooth connection or USB.

The HT-S20R will be available in Europe from April 2020 priced at approximately €250.
