Samsung Display to Bring 4K OLEDs to Laptops

Samsung Display to Bring 4K OLEDs to Laptops

PC components Dec 4,2018 0

Samsung Display has developed 4K Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED) panels for laptops, hoping to attract laptom makers such as HP and Lenovo.

The company's new 13.3 inch, 14 inch, and 15.6 inch OLED panels support Ultra HD(UHD). The panels have excluded the blue light to the maximum extent and have increased their resolution to offer comfortable viewing. We could assume that the new displays are also offering wide viewing angles, and quick response times, in order to be a good fit for high-end laptops.

OLED price is also a critical factor for the adoption of the panels, although the price difference between OLED and LCD screens has been decreasing lately.

The new OLEDs will be on display at CES 2019 in Las Vegas early next year.

Samsung Display is said to be in supply talks with HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung Electronics.
