Nvidia To Showcase New GF100 GPUs at PAX East 2010 Show

Nvidia To Showcase New GF100 GPUs at PAX East 2010 Show

GPUs Feb 23,2010 0

Nvidia continues to create a buzz around the release of its first Fermi desktop GPUs. This time the company has officially set the release date of its GF100 chips for March 26. According to Nvidia's web page, the company will demonstrate its GF100 GPUs, possibly the GeForce GTX 480 and the GTX 470 variations, at the PAX East game festival in March 26, 2010. PAX East is a three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers and will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, March 26th-28th 2010. This means that consumers still have a month's time for their expectations to swell in anticipation of NVIDIA's very first cards with support for DirectX 11.

Here is the event's description at Nvidia's web page:

According to some early information, the GF100 has lackluster performance and excessive power consumption. The reports indicate the GTX480 "can barely beat the second fastest ATI card, the HD5870." However, allow us to wait a little bit for an in-house testing of Nvidia's new offerings and avoid assumptions.
