LG UltraGear Brings World’s First Native 1000Hz FHD Gaming Monitor to ChinaJoy 2026

LG UltraGear Brings World’s First Native 1000Hz FHD Gaming Monitor to ChinaJoy 2026

Gaming Aug 21,2026 0

First-person shooters (FPS) have always placed unique demands on display performance. In fast-paced matches, players rely on quick response times, clear motion and sharp, fluid visuals – making high refresh rates and low latency essential. As FPS titles continue to gain in popularity worldwide, more and more gamers are choosing their display based on how well it performs in the heat of battle.

At LG, we work closely with some of the world’s top esports professionals to ensure our premium UltraGear™ monitors deliver the speed and responsiveness needed when victory is on the line. Our gamer-led approach to product design was on full display at ChinaJoy 2026 in Shanghai where, together with TCL CSOT, we introduced the LG UltraGear 25G590B, the world’s first native FHD gaming monitor1 engineered from the ground up for competitive FPS gaming.

Built Around the Way FPS Players Compete
The new UltraGear features a 24.5-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) screen with a native 1000Hz refresh rate that keeps the action crisp, and the player firmly in control. Unlike displays that rely on dual-mode operation to reach their headline speeds, our monitor achieves its 1000Hz maximum at the hardware level. The 25G590B offers an additional performance boost through overclocking up to 1100Hz and incorporates Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) Pro technology to maintain visual clarity during intense in-game action.

In FPS play, a monitor’s underlying technology really matters because it directly impacts responsiveness and the ability to render motion precisely and cleanly. In fast-paced scenarios, the ultra-high native refresh rate of the 25G590B translates to exceptionally smooth motion with significantly reduced latency. By significantly reducing the delay between physical input and the on-screen response, the display enables gamers to react faster and aim more accurately – providing a distinct advantage in the high-stakes arena of competitive FPS gaming.

We also looked beyond the screen itself to the wider competitive setup. The monitor’s stand footprint has been reduced by 49 percent2 compared to a same-sized standard gaming monitor model, creating more room for mouse movement, while its adjustable design allows players to position the display at their preferred height and tilt. Ambient lighting that dynamically responds to the rhythm of the game further enhances immersion, rounding out a design meticulously optimized for premium gaming experiences.

The 25G590B incorporates on-device gaming AI features designed to boost both immersion and usability. AI Scene Optimization adds visual realism and depth by intelligently adjusting picture settings according to game genre. And because FPS players rely on more than visual information alone to navigate the dangers of the virtual battlefield, the monitor comes equipped with AI Sound Enhancement. Providing a more authentic spatial audio experience, this feature helps players hear important audio cues, such as the approaching footsteps of an enemy scout, or the direction from which a sniping shot was fired.

From the Launch Stage to Hands-On Gameplay at ChinaJoy 2026
On July 31, we joined TCL CSOT at ChinaJoy’s N4 Hall to unveil the new LG UltraGear monitor to media, partners and gaming fans. The launch event gave attendees a close-up look at the 25G590B and the advanced capabilities behind its purpose-built FPS gaming display. Representatives from both companies took the stage to introduce the product and share insights into the technologies behind it. Visitors were then able to experience the new monitor firsthand at gaming stations throughout the exhibition, seeing for themselves how the 25G590B successfully meets the specific demands of competitive FPS play. Providing hands-on time with our new UltraGear was particularly meaningful as it allowed us to move the conversation beyond the attention-grabbing number of “1000Hz.” Those who took advantage of the opportunity came away with a real appreciation for the difference that ultra-high refresh rates and motion clarity can make when the virtual bullets are flying.

Connecting With the Wider Gaming Ecosystem
Our presence at ChinaJoy extended to the Tencent Games exhibition area, which featured our premium UltraGear monitors, including the 27GM950B and 32GX870B, and the gaming-ready 77-inch LG C6 series OLED TV. Within this engaging environment, visitors were able to directly experience LG’s advanced display technologies alongside exciting new content from one of the industry’s leading gaming companies. For us, ChinaJoy was more than a place to showcase new products. It was an opportunity to connect our purpose-built displays with the wider gaming ecosystem, and to share our love of esports with real gamers – the very people who inspire us to create new and better LG UltraGear monitors.

From Specifications to the Way Gamers Play
Gaming monitors will always be defined in part by numbers: screen size, resolution, response time and refresh rate. But for us, specifications only matter when they translate into something tangible that players can see, feel and benefit from, such as clearer motion, enhanced responsiveness and lower latency. By looking beyond the spec sheet and actively listening to feedback from elite esports competitors, we will continue to deliver displays and technologies that offer the features gamers want and the experiences they deserve.
