LG Display To Showcfase First Rollable TV Next Year

LG Display To Showcfase First Rollable TV Next Year

Consumer Electronics Mar 2,2016 0

LG Display is working to bring its rollable display technology to TVs, and plans to release a 60-inch UHDTV model at next year's Consumer Electronics Show. The display panel has already been developed and the company is currently working with LG Electronics and LG Chem in order to design and enhance the durability of flexible components, Business Korea reports citing industry sources in the Asian country.

A rollable display is formed from a flexible plastic substrate so that the display itself can be rolled.

LG display has already showcased a 18-inch rollable OLED display with a radius of curvature exceeding 30 R.

Experts are pointing out that a curvature of at least 5 R should be achieved before the commercialization of any rollable TV.
