Google Responds To Apple Music With Free Streaming Service

Google Responds To Apple Music With Free Streaming Service

Enterprise & IT Jun 23,2015 0

Even if you are not already a Google Play Music subscriber, Gogole has got you covered. The company launched a free version of its music streaming service on Tuesday, as it sought to upstage the debut of Apple's Music service next week. Google Play Music now has a free, ad-supported version in the U.S.

Google's team of music experts, including the folks who created Songza, crafts each station song by song so you don’t have to. If you’re looking for something specific, you can browse the curated stations by genre, mood, decade or activity, or you can search for your favorite artist, album or song to create a station of similar music.

The first free version of the streaming service is available online and will be available on Android and iOS by the end of the week, Elias Roman, Google product manager, said.

The new service’s ads initially will include video and banners, meaning it will also be a potential new revenue stream for artists.

Apple said earlier this month it would launch a music streaming service on June 30 for $9.99 per month along with a $14.99 per month family plan, with a free three-month trial.
