Google Puts Promotional Posts Into Search Results With "Local Business Cards"

Enterprise & IT Mar 5,2016 0

Google will start offering businesses, brands or individuals a new way to promote their work by adding a dedicated feed built right into the company's search engine. The product is referred to as "Local Business Cards" and has been tested by Google with a very limited number of local businesses. It is actually a new post/stream oriented publishing platform that allows celebrities or businesses to post information about them. This information will show up in the SERPS associated with your web page, offering a very compelling way to promote their page exposure on keyword searches.

Google has already published the experimental new podium on Google search for the US presidential candidates. As people search on Google looking for information about the upcoming presidential elections, the search engine returns test, images and videos published by US presdential candidates available on Google's new platform.

This new new format for search results could eventually let any brand, celebrity, or organization have a dedicated Twitter-like feed built right into the company's search engine.

Google says that currently, this feature is an experiment that is only available to the 2016 US presidential candidates. In the future, the company plans to make it available to other prominent figures and organizations.
