In the box: the keyboard, the palm rest, a printed manual, a switch/keycap puller, and a braided USB-C to A cable. The puller is worth calling out specifically — it's not the cheap plastic ring tool some boards ship with, but a metal wire-frame design with a dedicated keycap-pulling head (the blue plastic part) built in. A small but real sign that be quiet! expects people to actually use the hot-swap sockets, not just list them on a spec sheet.

The Light Mount TKL has dimensions of 358 x 213 x 44mm with the palm rest attached (358 x 132/133 x 44mm without). Total weight is 1.03 kg with the rest, 0.77 kg without.

An official side-profile diagram breaks this down further: 132mm for the keyboard case itself plus 80mm for the palm rest depth, which sum to 212mm — a mm off the quoted 213mm total, again just rounding.

The Light Mount has a pure black color, with black brushed aluminum as the building material. You can expect a fingerprint magnet if your hands are oily, but we don't find this a problem after all.

The headline change from the original Light Mount is the switch itself. be quiet!'s new Silent V2 switches come in the same two variants as before — orange (linear) and black (tactile) — but with a thicker gold contact point and revised lubrication, aimed at quieter operation and more consistent responsiveness. Housings are PA66 with POM stems, a combination be quiet! specifically credits for the switches' sound character. Contacts are gold-on-copper for signal reliability.Notably, be quiet! says these Silent V2 switches will also make their way into future production runs of the existing full-size Light Mount and Dark Mount — so this isn't a TKL-exclusive part, it's the new baseline switch going forward. Every switch socket is 5-pin and hot-swappable, so you're not locked into be quiet!'s switches if you want to experiment.

The triple-layer foam treatment carries over unchanged from the full-size board: one layer between switch and PCB, one under the PCB, one filling the bottom housing. On paper this is what actually made the original Light Mount stand out so carrying the formula over rather than cutting corners for the smaller chassis is the right call, at least on paper.

Looking at the keyboard, you will find a typical ANSI layout, all keycaps are black, while all letters have transparent material to glow in the dark making it easy to use. be quiet! offers 4 key layouts: US-International (ANSI), UK-English (ISO), FR-French (ISO), and DE-German (ISO).

The Light Mount TKL includes an programmable aluminum 3D Media Wheel (volume by default, click to mute) and three programmable macro/media keys — down from five on the full-size Light Mount, a reasonable trade for the smaller frame.

Individual macros support up to 999 recorded events, a large jump from the original Light Mount's 58-event limit — though the total macro library is capped at 15 saved macros, and this expanded depth is TKL-only due to hardware constraints, so it won't be retrofitted to the older boards.

The bottom building material is ABS, and there is no special care for USB or cable routes. Moreover, the magnetic cushioned palm rest snaps onto the keyboard for a more natural hand position. The bottom label lists a power rating of 5V === 500mA, confirms manufacture in China, and carries the full certification row (CE, UKCA, FCC, WEEE) alongside a serial number and article/product ID.

The folding feet are a two-position hinge mechanism at the rear corners, recessed into a ribbed non-slip base pad — matching the "three angled positions" spec.

With the palm rest attached, the full board reads as a clean, understated black slab — no visible seams between the aluminum plate and the ABS bottom from the top-down view.

At the back users will find the USB Type C v2.0 port for connect the keyboard to the PC host with 1000hz polling rate, centered on the back edge, between the two folding feet, rather than off to one side.

The be quiet! Light Mount TKL has Per-key ARGB with an arched diffuser over each switch, plus a top light bar and side-mounted underglow strips. IO Center supports the usual grab-bag of effects (Static, Color Wave, Tornado, Breathing, Matrix, Reactive, Ripple), single/dual-color and gradient modes, up to 10 customizable lighting layers in Custom Mode, and a color-calibration tool to match LED output across your other be quiet! gear. It's also compatible with Microsoft Dynamic Lighting, which will override IO Center's settings when active and hand control back when you switch it off.
