Banner Confirms iOS 6 Release at WWDC

Enterprise & IT Jun 9,2012 0

An photo taken today in San Francisco confirms one of the many rumors following Apple's WWDC event held on Monday in San Francisco - the announcement of the iOS 6. The photo below appeared at Instagram and shows a banner for iOS 6 being erected at the Moscone convention center where Apple is holding the event.

Generally, WWDC gives developers a rare chance to speak directly with Apple engineers about their coding efforts and learn about new features presented during the opening keynote.

Other rumors about the announcements at Worldwide Developers Conference include Siri for iPad, a new look for iTunes and the App Store, as well as a switch from Google Maps to the Apple's own offering.

Apple-watchers also expect the next version of the iPhone, the iPhone 5, to appear this fall, about a year after the launch of the 4S model.

On the Mac software side, Apple has already demonstrated most of the features of OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" in February and said it will go on sale late this summer. Developers are already able to download a version of the software.

Apple is also expected to announce new Mac models based on Intel's 3rd processor line with faster, energy-efficient chips.

A mystery still surrounds Apple's ambitions in television-making. A few Apple watchers expect the company to reveal such a set at WWDC, but there's broad speculation that the company could release an updated software for the Apple TV, expanding on its functions.
