Apple iOS 9 Could Give New Breath To Your Old iPhone 4, iPad Mini

Smartphones May 25,2015 0

Apple is expected to support older devices along with the new ones with the upcoming release of the iOS 9. iOS 9 is expected to be announced next month followed by a public release in September.

Sources with 9to5Mac that the new OS will have improved support for older devices, such as the iPhone 4S and iPad mini. In addition, the iOS 9 is said to focus on quality and stability improvements rather in new features.

Until now, every new version of iOS supported Apple devices that are a few generations before the current shipping model. However, optimizing iOS 9 for older devices would be also beneficial for Apple customers in emerging markets where the upgrade cycles have been slow.

The rumormil related to the iOS 9 has not provided much so far. We are hearing that Apple may change the default font, add a Home application for HomeKit devices, set up split-screen views for the iPad and upgrade Apple Maps with transit directions. In addition, Apple is said to add a kernel-level feature that could prevent malware from spreading and increase extension safety. The feature could pose some headaches to the jailbreak community on iOS.

More and most importantly, official informaton is expected to be available during this year's WWDC, which is taking place on June 8th.
