Acer Offers Tegra-based Supercomputer

Acer is delivering new high-density servers equipped with NVIDIA Tesla 20-series GPUs. The solution promises to bring customers all the computing power of multiple Tesla GPUs in a space saving 2U, two node rack server design for easy clustering.

The Acer AW2000ht server line is part of the Acer Gemini series of servers which features a multi-node design. Multi-node designs combine multiple independent server systems into a single chassis to help cut down on equipment, power and floor space costs. The AW2000ht supports full-height riser cards for two independent servers in a single 2U chassis. This ability allows for the AW2000ht to equip an independent GPU module in each of the two systems, enabling the user to run computational programs across both the CPUs and GPUs for maximum performance.

This combined design is important for its ability to allow large-scale system integrators to scale their GPU computing solutions. The Acer AW2000ht with NVIDIA’s Tesla GPUs can be expanded and leveraged for HPC, education, corporate and/or SMB customers seeking powerful computing performance across multiple systems.

Acer’s servers are displayed at Computex Taipei 2010 which runs from June 1-5.
