Samsung A9 Pro Comes With 'Infinity-O Display', LG Q9 Supports Hi-Fi Quad DAC

Smartphones Jan 25,2019 0

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have both rolled out new budget smartphone lineups in South Korea: the Samsung A9 Pro and the LG Q9.

The budget smartphones are priced between 400,000 ($357) and 600,000 won ($535) and have several high-end features that can be seen in expensive ones.

The Galaxy A9 Pro is the first Galaxy smartphone to use the Infinity-O display, a full-screen panel with a small punch hole for the front camera. The 6.4-inch bezel-less design has a 19.5-to-9 ratio.

The device comes with three cameras on the back for improved photo quality: an 24-megapixel camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera that supports a 2x optical zoom and a 5-megapixel depth camera.

The 6.4-inch smartphone has a 3,400 mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal memory, supports Samsung's 'Bixby' intelligence platform and comes in three colors. Samsung said it is priced at 599,500 won ($534).

LG's Q9 smartphone, priced at 499,400 won ($445), is released in South Korea through SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus.

For music lovers, the Q9 supports Hi-Fi Quad DAC technology to enable users to enjoy music with richer sound. LG applied the technology to its high-end smartphones such as the LG G7 and V40.

The 6.1-inch smartphone is IP68-certified against water and dust and has MIL-STD 810G certification. It also supports the mobile payment platform LG Pay and has AI software, which helps the camera shoot quality photos.
