ASUS Unveils the Line of ASUS Tablets and The VA278Q Display at CES

ASUS Unveils the Line of ASUS Tablets and The VA278Q Display at CES

PC components Jan 10,2012 0

ASUS today introduced new members to the ASUS tablet family and the 27" VA278Q LED display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012. The recently introduced ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 is the first tablet to feature the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and is also the first tablet to have unveiled an upgrade plan for Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The 8.3mm-thin Transformer Prime features a spun aluminum design and comes with a mobile dock, which delivers a battery life of up to 18 hours when paired.

The tablet features a Super IPS+ screen with a wide viewing-angle (178°), ASUS-exclusive SonicMaster technology for high quality audio, and an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash.

ASUS also introduced the new Transformer 700 series ? a premium 10.1" tablet. Like the TF 201, audio comes by way of the ASUS-exclusive SonicMaster technology. It features a Full HD 1920 x 1200 resolution screen. In addition, it has an upgraded front facing 2MP camera along with a rear-facing 8MP camera with a F/2.4 aperture. In terms of productivity stakes, the pre-installed SuperNote app is ideal for note-taking, with a user-friendly design that allows for easy file sharing while at the same time keeping data secure.

ASUS MeMO Series

ASUS straddles the line between a tablet PC and a mobile phone with the ASUS MeMO 171 ?a 2-in-1 device that consists of the 7" MeMO tablet and the MeMIC headset.

The 3G-enabled MeMO 171 features a 7" high resolution 216dpi screen that produces images which are 30% more accurate through the color range and can be easily viewed even when outdoors. The touch panel responds to inputs via the bundled stylus or the user?s fingertips.

The accompanying Bluetooth MeMIC headset lets users search for contacts, send and receive text messages, and place calls. Plug in some earphones and it serves as an audio device that streams music from the MeMO via a Bluetooth connection. The bundled stylus also lets users navigate through the MeMO's functions with ease.

Also available is the Wi-Fi-enabled MeMO 370T, a 7" Android tablet that features the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor. The device will be priced at just $249.

ASUS VA278Q Display

The ASUS VA278Q provides clear visuals through its 27" QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution display. At 0.233mm, the pixel pitch of the VA278Q is 25% smaller than that of generic 27W FHD displays. With 178° wide-viewing angles on both vertical and horizontal planes, the LED-backlit panel provides 100% sRGB color space compatibility for image reproductions with minimal color shift. ASUS Contrast Ratio technology gives it an ultra-high contrast ratio of 80,000,000:1.

Designed for professionals and photographers, the VA278Q features the ASUS-exclusive QuickFit Virtual Scale function to provide actual sized photo and grid overlays onscreen so users can accurately preview and edit their photos on screen. The ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence Technology has 6 hotkey-enabled pre-set modes (Theater, Scenery, Gaming, Night View, sRGB, and Standard) to optimize colors and image fidelity for the onscreen content.

The VA278Q has an array of connectivity options and is compatible with DisplayPort, and dual-link DVI.
