New Digital Hollywood DVD, Metal DVD, and Video DVD Media Provide Fun and Innovative Recording Options At CES 2005, TDK, a world leader in digital recording solutions, is introducing an expanded lineup of recordable DVD media, offering consumers a host of exciting new solutions for creating and sharing digital video, multimedia and valuable data. With the addition of its new Digital Hollywood DVD, Metal DVD, and Video DVD discs, TDK’s DVD media line is now the most progressive in the industry, offering a wide range of choices for every recording project.

Chris Bailey, TDK Director of Recording Media, noted, "DVD recording has permanently changed the way consumers enjoy and collect video, images and data. With our new line of Digital Hollywood DVD and Metal DVD media, we’re providing our customers with stylish alternatives to ordinary DVD discs, offering a fun and accessible way to make recording, collecting and sharing DVDs even more rewarding." He continued, "Designed specifically to support the growing home DVD video recorder market, our Video DVD media maximizes the performance of today’s home theaters."

Experience the Colorful Magic of the Silver Screen with Digital Hollywood DVD Digital Hollywood DVD recording media, available in two colorful design styles, adds a star-studded flair to every recording. Featuring classic cinema themes, five different pre-printed marquis-style headlines such as "Now Playing" and "The Best Picture of the Year," adds the magic and mystique of classic Hollywood to all of your DVD projects. The second design features classic theatrical icons and includes five different colorful label-side designs such as movie reels and popcorn. Digital Hollywood DVD recording media is a step up from standard discs, and clearly puts customers’ home recordings on the red carpet.

TDK’s Digital Hollywood DVD discs are conveniently available in 5- or 10-piece space-saving, 7mm clear slim-packs that are thinner than standard DVD cases, or in 25-piece spindles. Available in both write-once DVD+R and DVD-R formats, TDK’s Digital Hollywood DVD discs provide users with all the performance, reliability and durability they’ve come to expect from TDK blank media.

TDK Digital Hollywood DVD discs will be available in early 2005 at an estimated street price of $8.99 per 5-pack, $17.99 per 10-pack and $24.99 for a 25-piece spindle.

Metal DVD Adds Style to Memories

TDK’s new Metal DVD discs feature extraordinary precious metal colored surfaces. Three different "all metal" colored discs – gold, silver and bronze – deliver a sleek appearance customers can further personalize with a marker pen. Perfect for storing data, video, photos, or music, TDK Metal DVD media gives every creation the confident elegance of the world’s most coveted metals.

Available in write-once DVD+R and DVD-R formats, TDK Metal DVD discs offer all the reliability and toughness you’d expect from gold, silver and bronze. Like all TDK media, Metal DVD discs are formulated for bit-accurate recording and flawless playback. TDK Metal DVD discs will be available in early 2005 at an estimated street price of $5.25 per 3-pack, $10.49 per 6-pack and $11.99 for a 12-piece spindle.

Home Recording Goes Digital With TDK’s New Video DVD

With VCRs heading into the twilight of their recording careers, home DVD video recorders are the increasingly popular replacement as the "digital VCR." TDK is meeting a groundswell of demand with Video DVD, digital media specifically designed for home DVD video recorders.

TDK Video DVD discs are the perfect accessory for home DVD recorders, allowing users to record all their favorite live television, cable and satellite programs and movies directly to DVD. The discs are also ideal for archiving photos and transferring home camcorder videos and VHS tapes. Each 4.7GB Video DVD disc stores up to six hours of video and audio in extended play (EP) mode. The discs also offer an hour of recording time in excellent play (XP) mode, two hours of recording time in standard play (SP) mode, and four hours of recording time in long play (LP) mode. TDK Video DVD discs are available in DVD+R and DVD-R write once formats, and in convenient re-recording or rewritable DVD+RW and DVD-RW formats.

TDK Video DVD-/+R discs will be available in early 2005 at estimated street prices of $6.99 per 5-pack and $44.99 for a 50-piece spindle. TDK Video DVD-/+RW will also ship in early 2005 at estimated street prices of $9.99 per 5-pack and $22.49 for a 25-piece spindle.

TDK is committed to providing consumers with the very best and most reliable optical media. TDK’s comprehensive line of Certified Plus recordable DVD discs makes it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the benefits of high-quality, error-free DVD recording, along with the widest compatibility with drives and players.
