Sapphire Blizzard Cooler Pushes X1900XTX Limits

Sapphire Blizzard Cooler Pushes X1900XTX Limits

GPUs Mar 9,2006 0

Sapphire has just introduced a new Blizzard liquid cooled model in its Radeon X1900 series, promising eficieny cooling and performance for its X1900XTX graphic cards. Taking up a single PCI slot in addition to the PCI-Express slot occupied by the graphics card, the new Blizzard cooler is a sealed and silent liquid cooling solution. Maximum efficiency is achieved by the use of a Pure Copper Water Block on the GPU for high heat conductivity together with a Pure Copper Radiator in the Blizzard cooler for efficient heat dissipation. Coolant is circulated with a Silent 12V mini pump. Air is extracted from the case by an integral transparent blue LED fan, passed through the radiator and vented out of the case at the rear mounting bracket. Two speeds of operation give a choice of lower noise or higher efficiency. (18dBA at 2000RPM, 26dBA at 2500RPM).

The Blizzard cooler is also easy to install. Industrial-grade rubber tube links the GPU block with the rest of the system to minimize liquid evaporation and is fitted with stress relief springs supporting the tubes against damage or distortion at their connecting points. Provision is made to top up the system when necessary.

The Blizzard cooler was developed in conjunction with Thermaltake and is exclusive to Sapphire. Commenting on the introduction, Joseph Lin of Thermaltake said ?We are delighted to be working with Sapphire with its industry leading reputation and helping to deliver a revolutionary product that will be a clear winner in this market?

The new Blizzard RADEON X1900XTX is the top performer in the RADEON X1900 series from Sapphire. Accordn gto Sapphire, this cooling system allow enthusiasts to enhance performance well above the standard speeds of 650MHz engine clock and 775MHz (1550MHz effective) memory clock frequency using the Sapphire TRIXX overclocking tool supplied.

Features of the X1900 series architecture include 48 pixel shader processors and 8 vertex shader processors together with a 512-bit ring-bus based internal memory controller together delivering true Direct X 9 Shader Model 3.0 compatibility.

High image quality is also ensured, with 64-bit floating point High Dynamic Range rendering (HDR), blending capability and a new anisotropic filtering (AF) combined with up to 12x Anti-Aliasing (AA) when used in Crossfire mode. Two DVI outputs are provided and Dual-link DVI is supported with resolutions up to 2650 x 1600. The architecture also supports ATI's Avivo technology.
