The NPD Group Acquires In-Stat

The NPD Group Acquires In-Stat

Enterprise & IT Apr 1,2011 0

The NPD Group today announced that it has finalized the acquisition of In-Stat, an analyst research company focused on the mobile internet and digital entertainment industries. As the newest addition to NPD?s analyst-based services, In-Stat will operate in conjunction with DisplaySearch, an NPD Group Company, to provide global technology analysis.

Backed by 30 years of experience in the technology sector, In-Stat offers reports and advisory services on the world of mobile phones, connected devices, and digital entertainment. Its clients include technology vendors, equipment manufacturers, service providers, and media companies. By offering information on the technology ecosystem, including forecasts and analysis, In-Stat also complements NPD?s existing consumer and retail sales tracking services for the technology and entertainment industries.

With the acquisition, In-Stat joins NPD's portfolio of analyst businesses, including DisplaySearch, Solarbuzz, and Connected Intelligence.

In-Stat will keep its brand name, and the team will report to Tim Bush, General Manager of The NPD Group's Technology Analyst Business.

By operating in partnership with DisplaySearch, In-Stat will gain access to an extended network of sales and research support around the world, especially in Asia and Europe.
