New Samsung Galaxy K zoom, Has a 20.7 megapixel Camera

Samsung has revealed the Galaxy K zoom, the new camera specialized smartphone that features 10x optical zoom, 20.7 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), AF/AE Separation and more. "The new Galaxy K zoom empowers users to effortlessly capture and share their most important everyday moments in stunning clarity, with the convenience and connectedness of a Galaxy smartphone, for a unique, all-in-one mobile experience," said Sun Hong Lim, Senior Vice President of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics.

The Galaxy K zoom is equipped with new retracting lens technology that provides 10x optical zoom in a slim body. Other features include the 20.7 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, high performance in low light conditions, and an Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) to reduce blur caused by movement. The device also shhots Full HD video and is equipped with a Xenon Flash.

The new device also integrates camera usability features and functions, including AF/AE Separation (/Auto Focus/ Auto Exposure Separation), next-generation Pro Suggest mode which offers 5 optimized filter settings, Selfie Alarm that allows users to take timed selfies with ease, and object tracking for a focused shot of a moving subject.

The Galaxy K zoom also offers features found in other Samsung smartphones, such as Ultra Power Saving Mode for minimizing the battery consumption, S Health Lite for personalized fitness and lifestyle coaching, and a Studio app to allow users to edit their pictures and videos.

It has a 4.8" display that matches the 1280x720 resolution of the Galaxy Camera 2, although it is an AMOLED panel. In comparison the Nokia Lumia 1020 is only 14.5mm at its thickest point. The device also sheds a tiny bit of weight, dropping from 208g to 200g.

On the inside we have Samsung’s Exynos 5 Hexa (5260) SoC which employs ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture and has support for HMP (Heterogeneous Multi-Processing) to take advantage of all six cores simultaneously. It sports two ARM Cortex-A15 cores with a max frequency of 1.7GHz and four Cortex-A7 cores with a max frequency of 1.3GHz. There’s also ARM’s Mali-T624 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
