MET launches two new DVD recorders

MET launches two new DVD recorders

General Interest Jul 24,2003 0

MET Technology introduced two own-brand consumer-use DVD recorders – the CyQ’ve PV 2400i and PV2400ie – with suggested retail prices set at NT$29,000 (about US$829) and NT$24,900 (about US$711), respectively, according to a press release from the company. Both of the products support the DVD+R and DVD+RW formats. The PV2400i is priced higher than the PV2400ie as it features an IEEE 1394 port and 5.1-channel output.

Since most DVD recorders sold in Taiwan are priced between NT$40,000-50,000, MET expects to seize 50% of the local DVD recorder market with monthly sales of 1,500 units in the fourth quarter, according to the company.

The two DVD recorders will be available in the Taiwan market by September, while shipments to China will start in the fourth quarter, according to the company.
