Intel Acquires SOftware Companies Aepona, Mashery

Enterprise & IT May 9,2013 0

Intel today announced the completion of two company acquisitions -- Aepona and Mashery. Aepona is an expert in API exposure and monetization platforms for service providers around the world, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Mashery provides technology solution for API Management and monetization, headquartered in San Francisco, California. These services allow Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), network providers, enterprises and OEMs to securely grant access to their network resources while achieving monetization opportunities.

"The acquisitions are part of Intel’s efforts to build a portfolio of services that bring compelling experiences across all platforms and hardware architectures, further accelerating the delivery of integrated, cross-platform solutions. Aepona and Mashery teams will be integrated into the Intel Services Division," Intel said.

In related news, Intel today joined the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in a National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) partnership, along with 10 other industry leaders: Cisco, HP, HyTrust, McAfee, Microsoft, RSA, Splunk, Symantec, Vanguard and Venafi.

The NCCoE is a partnership of public and private sectors created by NIST to bring the best minds together to focus on the growing problem of cybertheft. The group aims to enable shared cybersecurity best practices, tools and solutions to reduce risk and enhance trust in our national IT systems, electronic communications and transactions.
