Freecom FHD-2 PRO

Freecom FHD-2 PRO

Enterprise & IT Dec 22,2003 0

Freecom presents its new external 2.5” aluminium hard disks for connection to the USB 2.0 interface. In contrast to its predecessor, the new hard disk is bus-powered, which means that the unit needs no additional power supply. The mobile hard disk offers maximum performance via USB 2.0, capacity of up to 80 GB and absolute reliability. The integrated SYNC function with intelligent data comparison saves and manages your data. Delft, December 2003. Storage capacity to spare: With the FHD-2 PRO, Freecom presents a fast, quiet external hard disk with one button data synchronisation. The new FHD-2 PRO comes with a memory capacity of 20, 40 or 80 gigabytes – thus offering ample reserves to access even the largest volumes of data when on the move, such as videos, photos, presentations or MP3 tracks, without problems. The new hard disk, with its particularly compact dimensions (12.7 x 7.9 x 1.5 cm) requires only the minimum of space, is connected to the PC, laptop or Mac via the USB 2.0 connection. The power supply for the hard disk comes over the USB 2.0 cable, without the need for an additional power supply. Thanks to USB 2.0, the FHD-2 PRO offers high-speed data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbit per second, guaranteeing rapid access to all data at any time. The external hard disk satisfies even the highest demands, and is ideally suited for the storage of data, digital photos, videos and MP3 files and for the creation of back-ups and transporting of data. The Freecom FHD-2 PRO is particularly well protected by the robust, scratchproof aluminium housing.
BR> The outstanding feature of this mobile hard disk is the one-button-data- synchronisation function, with which users will already be familiar from the FHD-1. One touch of the SYNC button and the FHD-2 PRO automatically saves the latest version of your data. On connection of the mobile hard disk to the PC, the outer ring of the SYNC button lights up and then the whole button lights up as soon as the SYNC software is activated. If you frequently work on different computers, you can easily and simply synchronise your data - for example between your laptop and office PC - using the SYNC button and the Freecom SYNC software. As soon as you connect the FHD-2 PRO to the computer and press the SYNC button, the Freecom SYNC software automatically detects which files have been changed, and offers the user the option of replacing the old files. This will insure that you are always working with the latest information.
BR> Freecom offers the new FHD-2 PRO complete with USB 2.0 connection cable and the Freecom SYNC software. The package also includes the True Image software from Acronis. The software is the perfect tool for creating images of all the partitions, even during use, and makes creating back-ups and saving data child’s play. With the aid of the images created, all information, including the operating system and any applications, can be easily and quickly restored.
BR> The Freecom FHD-2 PRO will be available in shops from January 2004 from 189 Euro for 20GB, 269 Euro for 40GB and 429 for 80 GB (suggested street price incl. VAT). Freecom offers a 2-year manufacturer’s guarantee and unilimited free helpdesk support for the mobile hard disk.
