The Split 65 is a new proposal for split-type mechanical keyboards from EPOMAKEr. This is a 65% mechanical keyboard that can be split into two areas and both parts are connected via a Type-C cable. The keyboard has solid construction and includes 4 4-layer Dampening Materials for more pleasure when typing. There is only one color (for now?) Black and the retail package is complete. The build quality is good, with no cricks for either part and the used ABS plastic results in a weight of ~800gr which gives this keyboard lightness. There are two available switches to choose from, with slightly different characteristics and performance.

Onboard you will find a 3.000mAh battery and with a level battery management system, the keyboard will perform Deep Sleep after 30 mins of no key press and the backlight also turns off after 5 mins of inactivity as well. As with most EPOMAKER products, users will find three different connection modes (Type-C wire, 2.4G, BT) that work well without hiccups. The keyboard doesn't include a place to store the 2.4G dongle so keep that in mind if you don't wanna lose it. The BT protocol supports up to three devices. The keyboard also offers NKRO (N-key rollover) so you will get accurate registration of key presses. All keys have RGB LEDs with 16 default lighting patterns and can be customized either with keyboard presses or the VIA open-source software. All keycaps can be removed and the used switches to be replaced either due to a problem or simply wanting to "upgrade" your new keyboard (Hot-swappable Sockets Compatible with 3-pin and 5-pin Switches). The split keyboard design does allow users to experiment at the distance of the two parts and that will take some time for users to understand and exercise the muscle memory before being able to fully perform with this keyboard. All keys can be mapped to other functions under the VIA open-source software, which is a plus for most users.
