Computex: SanDisk Introduces New USB 3.0 Flash Drives, Portable SSD And 2TB SATA SSD For Cloud Data Services

SanDisk today launched two new, USB 3.0 flash drives ? the 128GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive, and the 256GB SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive. The company also announced the SanDisk Extreme 900 / 500 Portable SSDs and its 2TB CloudSpeed Eco Gen. II SATA SSD for cloud service providers. The SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive now comes in capacities up to 128GB in a package smaller than a dime. Featuring a low-profile, plug-and-stay design, this tiny flash drive also delivers high performance. The 128GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive provides speeds of up to 130MB/s.

In addition, the SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive now comes in capacities up to 256GB. SanDisk?s first-ever USB offering to achieve 256GB capacity supports transfer speeds of up to 100MB/s.

SanDisk?s new USB 3.0 offerings feature a five-year warranty; include SanDisk SecureAccess software to keep private files safe with password protection and 128-bit encryption; and come with a year?s subscription to RescuePRO software to recover lost or corrupted files.

The 128GB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.0 Flash Drive is priced at an MSRP of $119.99, and the 256GB SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 is priced at an MSRP of $199.99.

SanDisk is entering the portable SSD market with a family of high-performance drives, including the Type C-based SanDisk Extreme 900 Portable SSDs; and the ruggedSanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSDs.

Available in up to 1.92TB, the new SanDisk Extreme 900 Portable SSDs feature compact, durable aluminum case, speeds of up to 850MB/s, and both USB Type-C and Type-A cables to provide flexibility when working between systems.

The SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSDs will be available worldwide in capacities of 120GB, 240GB and 480GB, at MSRPs of $99.99, $149.99 and $239.99 respectively.

The SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSD is less than half the size of your smartphone. It supports transfer speeds of up to 415MB/s. Available in up to 480GB capacity, this drive also features a black finish with rubber bumpers, and a metal ring that clips into a bag.

The SanDisk Extreme 900 SSDs will be available worldwide in capacities of 480GB, 960GB and 1.92TB at MSRPs of $399.99, $599.99 and $999.99, respectively.

SanDisk also announced at Computex its new CloudSpeed Eco Gen. II SATA SSD, a purpose-built storage device for cloud service providers with up to 2TB capacity. The SSD is based on 15nm NAND flash, and includes the company?s Guardian Technology Platform, which works to provide a combination of error correction and detection technology, full data path protection, and data fail recovery.

The CloudSpeed Eco Gen. II SSD also comes with a limited five year warranty.
