Samsung today responed to the second report from New York-based China Labor Watch group regarding the labor conditions at six Samsung facilities and two supplier facilities in China. Samsung says it conducts routine audits of its facilities to ensure any potential violations are identified and workers are being protected. The S. Korean company claims it is in full compliance with all laws related to child labor, forced labor and workplace discrimination.

Additionally, the company says it has been taking steps to improve working hour practices, such as instances of overtime when new lines are built or when new products are introduced into the manufacturing process.

Samsung added that it would closely review the recent China Labor Watch report and take corrective actions if any violations of its labor policies were found.

"At Samsung, the health and safety of our employees is our primary concern and we will continue to abide by all labor and human rights laws in each respective operating region," Samsung concluded.

This is the second time Samsung responds to a labor report from China Labor Watch. In response to the August 8th report from the same group on the HEG Electronics facility in Huizhou, China, Samsung had announced its own on-site audit findings and had outlined an action plan to conduct field audits at 249 supplier sites and review working hour practices of Samsung-operated facilities in China.
