Corsair Announces the World's Highest Performing 1GB Module for the AMD Platform

Corsair Announces the World's Highest Performing 1GB Module for the AMD Platform

PC components Sep 26,2005 0

Jointly developed with ASUS for its new A8N32-SLI Deluxe/WiFi motherboards, the new 1GB XMS-3500LL PRO memory is tailor-made at super low latencies of 2-3-2-6-1T. Corsair and ASUSTek today announced a joint product launch targeting the AMD enthusiasts.

Under this collaboration, Corsair will release its first "ASUS Ready" XMS-3500LL PRO 2GByte-kit to support the release of the first "Corsair optimized" x16 SLI motherboards engineered by ASUS. Available in a matched pair of two 1GByte modules, the new XMS-3500LL PRO is claimed to be the industry's first high-density memory guaranteed to deliver fast performance of DDR437 (218MHz) at low latencies of 2-3-2-6-1T.

"The A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard was designed to set a new performance standard for the AMD enthusiasts, and we were able to do that with Corsair's XMS 3500LL PRO," said Joe Hsieh, Director of ASUS Motherboard Business. "As more users move to 2GB of system memory and still demand a performance edge, ASUS and Corsair are always on the forefront to deliver the most power combination of products," continued Hsieh.

Corsair designed the XMS-3500LL PRO with the latest 64MBx8 high speed chips and specially designed Brain Power PCB. The latest real-world applications like Battlefield2 demand a lot more memory bandwidth. Moving system memory to 2GByte provides the necessary bandwidth to ensure ultimate gaming experience, improving performance by well over fifteen (15) percent. In addition to the total system memory, memory latency also plays a key role in overall performance. The new XMS-3500LL PRO SPD is programmed at Plug and Frag latencies of 2-3-2-6-1T. Other differentiating features include the enhanced PRO heat spreader for enhanced heat dissipation, and proprietary activity-indicating LEDs that can aid in system troubleshoots.

First to market with motherboards that support X16 SLI Technology, the new ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe/WiFi motherboards take full advantage of the NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 chipset and feature the proprietary AI Life features such as Stack Cool 2, 8-phase power design, and fanless motherboard design.

"Our lab results have shown a sizeable performance increase in games like Battlefield 2 and applications like DVD encoding by increasing memory size to 2 gigabytes," stated John Beekley, Vice President of Applications Engineering at Corsair Memory. "These low latency one gigabyte modules, combined with the dual PCI Express sixteen-bit GPU slots and overclocking abilities of the A8N32-SLI Deluxe, will provide a knockout combination for builders of performance PCs."

The Corsair XMS-3500LL PRO (manufacturer's part number: TWINX2048-3500LLPRO) is immediately available through Corsair's distributors, resellers, retailers, and e-tailers worldwide.
