The SR-C8002 slim-line CD-R/RW drive reads CD-R/CD-RW media with a capacity of 650MB. The drive features a fast-writing and read speed of 8X for CD-R and CD-RW and employs a full 24X speed maximum playback for CD-ROM. It is currently available in volume production to mobile PC manufacturers.

Toshiba has also improved the performance capabilities of its popular desk-top combination CD-RW/DVD-ROM upgrade kit.
