Sony To Release New Playstation VITA Editions in Japan

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan plans to release the "PlayStation Vita Hatsune Miku Limited Edition" along with white versions of the PS Vita 3G and Wi-Fi models in August. The "PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) Hatsune Miku Limited Edition" will be available for a limited offer on August 30, 2012, concurrently with the release of NEXT HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA (Working title) from SEGA CORPORATION. This version includes a special PS Vita portable entertainment system, NEXT HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA and 4GB Memory card, available at a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of 39,980 yen (including tax) for 3G/Wi-Fi model and 34,980 yen (including tax) for Wi-Fi model .

NEXT HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA is the latest edition of HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA, the rhythm action game franchise in which the main character is the electrical diva named "Hatsune Miku", and which has sold more than 1 million units in Japan. While succeeding the franchise's original concept of "play to sing", this NEXT HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA newly adopts the "scratch" feature, allowing users to rub the multi touch screen to beat out rhythms intuitively according to the Hatsune Miku's medley songs. Furthermore, the characters (modules) are totally remodeled to match the PS Vita's display.

The PS Vita system included in "PS Vita Hatsune Miku Limited Edition", comes with a special design, printing Hatsune Miku on its rear touch pad.

The PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) 3G/Wi-Fi model (PCH-1100 series) and Wi-Fi model (PCH-1000 series) in new "Crystal White" color will become available on June 28, 2012, at a recommended retail price (RRP) of 29,980 and 24,980 yen (including tax) respectively.

SCE will also introduce in-ear headset for PS Vita in new "Crystal White" color on the same day at RRP of 2,800 yen (including tax). Along with "carrying pouch" and "leather case and wrist strap" both of which are available in white, users will be able to coordinate accessories for PS Vita in the same colors.

Some of the upcoming new software line-ups for PS Vita in Japan will include "MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED BATTLE DESTINY" (NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc.) available on June 7, "Persona4 The GOLDEN" (Index Corporation) on June 14, "METAL GEAR SOLID HD EDITION" (Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. ) on June 28, "TIME TRAVELERS" (LEVEL-5 Inc.) and "RESISTANCE: BURNING SKIES" (SCE) on July 12.
