Corsair Announced New 2GB microSD Removable Card

Corsair Announced New 2GB microSD Removable Card

Cameras Oct 16,2006 0

Based on the latest flash memory technology, each microSD card measures one-forth the size of a standard Secure Digital (SD) card. Available in 512MB, 1GB and 2GB capacities, the microSD cards are designed for the latest generation of mobile phones and devices that take advantage of the card?s high performance and expanded storage. Corsair today launched a new line of microSD removable flash memory cards to further expand the company's award-winning line of flash products. Available immediately in capacities up to 2GB - the largest capacity available in the world's smallest flash memory card - the high capacity is essential to users who store music, pictures, watch video, and use downloadable ringtones and address books. The 2GB Corsair microSD cards will hold up to 500 MP3 songs or approximately 4000 2megapixel photos.

"The digital convergence is here. Consumers are demanding mobile phones with built in MP3 functionality. The microSD form factor is the ideal storage solution as mobile devices continue to shrink in size and increase in features," said Richard Hashim, Director of Product Marketing at Corsair Memory. "With the need to store more portable data on the go, it is essential to have a large capacity storage device to house all the information. We expect to see significant demand for the Corsair microSD products."

Each microSD card is bundled with a standard SD adaptor to add usage flexibility. With the SD adaptor, each microSD card can be used as a full size SD card utilized in a variety of camera and cell phones. Available immediately through Corsair's worldwide authorized distributors, resellers, retailers and e-tailers, the 2GB Corsair microSD card retails for US$89.99.
