Mitsubishi and Toshiba announced their new projectors on Tuesday.Toshiba's new model uses digital light processing and Mitsubishi is delivering a compact model and its first high-def projector. Toshiba introduced the DLP-TDP-T95U projector. Featuring DLP( digital light processing) technology, the TDP-T95U offers 2,200 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio and an XGA 1024x768 native resolution.

"Our latest DLP projector provides business professionals and educators with superior image quality and functionality at an affordable price," said Alex Ijuin, assistant general manager for Toshiba DPD's Projector Business Unit of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. "With its added convenience features, the TDP-T95U is an incredible value for presentations in the office or classroom, on the road or in the home."

The TDP-T95U DLP sells for $1,299. More informations are available at Toshiba.

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics introduced on Tuesday the HD4000U, its first high-definition projector designed for wide-format laptops and imaging applications requiring the 16:9 aspect ratio.

The projector boasts Texas Instruments DDP3020 Digital Light Processing TrueVision image processing and Mitsubishi's BrilliantColor, which uses a color-processing algorithm and system-level enhancements. It offers a contrast ratio of 2500:1.

"Our new HD4000U brings widescreen imaging to business and professional environments to complement the latest presentation tools and laptops," said Frank Anzures, manager of projector product marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America.

"System consultants and integrators have been requesting a widescreen projector from Mitsubishi that shows excellent video," said James Chan, director, product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. "Our HD4000U offers them the flexibility and portability they need for almost any setting."

The Mitsubishi HD400U can be purchased at a suggested retail price of $2999. The specifications are available here.

Mitsubishi also introduced a compact projector, the MiniMits XD80U. Smaller than a laptop computer (1.8" H x 7.3" W x 6.9" L) and weighing less than three pounds, the new MiniMits delivers 1500 ANSI lumens.

"Our XD80U is smaller and lighter than most laptops, making it perfect for the mobile presenter," said Frank Anzures, manager, projector product marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America.

Mitsubishi's XD80U is available at a suggested retail price of $1,995. The XD80U's specifications are available here.
