Samsung Electronics is launching the new Galaxy A80 smartphone, featuring Samsung's first rotating triple camera and the New Infinity Display.

In a first for Galaxy devices, Galaxy A80 is equipped with Samsung’s rotating triple camera which provides the same high-quality lens, front and rear. The rotating triple camera also lets you record footages continuously, no matter if shot on front or back camera, so your memories can be seen in one video.

The Galaxy A80 allows you to take clear and bright photos regardless of day or night with its 48MP main camera and Ultra Wide Lens with a 123-degree viewing angle.

Galaxy A80’s 3D Depth Camera allows you to capture your subjects with more depth, letting you create movie-like clips of your moments with features such as Live Focus Video mode. Additionally, Super Steady Video mode reduces bumps or shakes for action videos.

Galaxy A80 features Samsung’s first New Infinity Display, an edge-to-edge, 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen. With a 20:9 display ratio, the New Infinity Display allows you to fully engage in your favorite multimedia content. The smartphone also supports Dolby Atmos audio with arphones or Bluetooth speakers.

The Galaxy A80 also features Samsung Knox, Samsung’s defense-grade security platform designed to protect from chipset to software. In addition, Samsung Pass will allow you to securely access apps and websites through fingerprint sensor.

With Galaxy A80’s Intelligent Performance Enhancer, you can expect your Galaxy A80 to work faster and longer. Its AI-powered performance optimization software maximizes the device’s CPU, RAM and battery capacity, tailoring your Galaxy A80’s efficiency to your everyday needs.

The Galaxy A80 comes in three colors: Angel Gold, Ghost White and Phantom Black. The Angel Gold and Ghost White options come with hints of pink and blue respectively.

The Bixby Marketplace is Open in the U.S. and Korea

In related news, the Bixby Marketplace platform is now open to users in U.S. and Korea.

The Bixby Marketplace’s official launch lays the foundation for an open ecosystem of services.

Samsung’s intelligence platform is designed to learn what you like to do, and then work with your favorite apps and services to help you get more done—faster. The Bixby Marketplace is offering easy access to a wide range of capsules that make Bixby more powerful, making it easier for users to tailor Bixby to suit their needs. The Marketplace includes a variety of capsules such as Google Maps, Spotify, iHeartRadio, NPR, Yelp and more.

Users access the Bixby Marketplace from the Bixby main page. Once the user launches the Bixby main page by pressing the Bixby key, they swipe left to get to the Bixby Marketplace. Capsules are organized by categories such as Productivity, Business and Finance, Sports, Shopping, etc.

Searching by capsule name, developer or keyword makes it easy to find the capsules you need, while curated staff picks and user reviews highlight capsules that users will find particularly useful. Capsules can be added with a tap of a button, and users can also rate and review capsules to ensure the highest quality Bixby capsules are the most visible to users in the Bixby Marketplace.

To add even more customization, users can set a capsule as the “preferred capsule” for certain types of requests. For example, if a user says “Get me a ride to San Francisco airport”, Bixby will prompt the user to pick one of the supported Rideshare capsules. Users will have the option to set their favorite provider as their preferred Rideshare capsule. Once that is set, any Rideshare request would automatically go to the user’s preferred provider, even if the user does not mention the capsule name.

Samsung plans to continue to improve the Bixby platform and evolve the Bixby Marketplace to support developer needs and enhance the experience for all our users. Samsung plans to share more updates at Samsung Developer Conference 2019 (SDC19) which will be held on October 29–30 in San Jose, California.
